FIRST EDITION IDENTIFIERS:

This is the first book Edgar Rice Burroughs ever wrote for publication. Though it was published by All-Story magazine in 1911, it wasn't published in hardback until Oct. 10, 1917 by A.C. McClurg & Co. They only printed this title one time, so any book bearing their name on the spine is a first edition. The binding is dark brown and the lettering is orange. Frank E. Schoonover illustrated the dust jacket and five interior drawings. A total of 10,200 copies were printed.
