one time, Sep. 5, 1922, so any book of
this title with A.C. McClurg on the
spine is a first edition. The book is
red and has black lettering. The the
dust jacket and four interior plates
were illustrated by J. Allen St. John. A
total of 10,000 copies were printed.
Early reprints by Grosset
& Dunlap can be a cause for
confusion as the copyright page is
identical to the 1st edition, though the
title page is different.
