FIRST EDITION IDENTIFIERS:
Burroughs Inc. first published this book on 9/1/1933 and it clearly states "First Edition" on the copyright page. In 1934 Burroughs Inc. also put out a second printing which states "Second Edition" on the copyright page. Otherwise both the 1st & 2nd printings are identical; both having blue cloth boards with red lettering on the cover and spine. J. Allen St. John illustrated the dust jacket and five interior drawings. Burroughs Inc. also reprinted the book again in 1948. The 1948 printings have tan covers with blue lettering. The book below is a "first edition" as shown on copyright page to the right. |
